	lan Paice has been a mentor of mine for many years. l first heard him play on the Fireball album. lan was fast, smooth and precise, not to mention he had some of the fastest bass drum licks l had ever heard. lan remains to be an active member of Deep Purple. A shot of the Ludwig drum set lan used in 1975 during the Stormbringer album. The drums were all custom painted. Paicy always used large sized drums including a 18X28 inch bass drum.

lan in his element playing his silver sparkle Ludwigs. Although he is now in his early fifities, Paicy remains to have the style, speed and endurance he had in the younger years. Someone once told me lan Paice was the Buddy Rich answer to Rockin Roll.
